Phononic in Equipment Cooling
Effective cooling is often necessary to keep industrial equipment running at peak performance. Phononic TECs (thermoelectric coolers) deliver power savings and higher heat pumping density to all types of equipment cooling. And, due to the way the TECs are designed, they can easily provide heating instead of cooling if the equipment environment calls for it.
A TEC can efficiently dissipate heat from an enclosure for applications such as grid boxes, transformers, or cell tower equipment. It can cool high-tech fabrication or analysis equipment—, the absence of moving parts that generate noise or vibrations ensure efficient cooling without introducing noise or defects in the instrument. Using a TEC for spot cooling the most sensitive components, such as inside embedded electronics in network infrastructure hardware, solves common design challenges. Often, passive thermal assemblies are designed to support the weakest thermal link in the system, which drives unwanted design compromises.. When using a TEC to spot cool that weak link, you’re free to design the best thermal system for the overall product, not just the weak link.
