Phononic's Use of Direct Current

Direct Current (DC) is an electrical current that flows in one direction only. Direct current can flow through conductors, semiconductors, and insulators. This is opposed to alternating current (AC) which is when an electrical current reverses its direction in a periodic manner. Most appliances still operate using a direct current. Meanwhile, some convert the AC from the power outlet to DC. As opposed to buying an AC appliance, one would want to opt for a DC based cooling system. This is because there is no need for a power inverter. A power inverter causes less energy efficiency. This is due to the inverter requiring energy to convert the electrical currents. 

Direct Current Cooling by Phononic

Phononic utilizes an innovative approach towards cooling through the use of semiconductors. By using semiconductors, the change in temperature with our cooling units goes through a process called the Peltier Effect. The Peltier Effect is when heating or cooling occurs at an electrified junction of two different conductors. Our products use a direct current charge when undergoing the Peltier Effect. Direct current is noticeable as the electrical current flows in one direction only. Phononic offers effective and efficient cooling in our solid-state based products.
