Solid-State Introduced at ROTH Conference

March 20, 2017

Last week, Tony Atti, Founder and CEO of Phononic had the privilege to present at the 29th Annual ROTH Conference. The conference featured presentations from public and private companies, spanning a multitude of industries from healthcare to cleantech and technology. Phononic was one of 72 private companies invited to present at the event due to its continued scale and growth in 2016.

Between days packed with leading industry executives and nights packed with top flight entertainment, Tony rubbed elbows with key strategic players and discussed the disruptive benefits of solid-state cooling and heating, related market opportunities and Phononic’s product roadmap and key customer engagements – both proprietary and partner-enabled using its technology.

During his presentation, Tony discussed how the company develops solutions that are smart, sustainable, cost effective and manufacturing-friendly, thus exposing the boundaries of conventional cooling and heating. He noted how semiconductor innovation has revolutionized key pillars of our economy including data, communication, solar power and lighting, yet cooling and heating remain the domain of mechanical legacy technologies that date back to the 1800s.

What many didn’t know was that Tony launched Phononic to change that narrative and overcome skepticism from industry incumbents. For example, Phononic’s technology uses a CO2-based coolant technology as opposed to HFCs in its refrigeration units, eliminating the compressor, a 75-year old toxic, bulky and power-sipping technology. As we are on the precipice of global change the pace of which doesn’t wait for environmental regulations, Phononic is at the forefront with products already on the market.

This is only the beginning – Phononic will continue to bring often not-thought-possible, thermoelectric cooling products in healthcare, commercial/beverage and residential refrigeration as well as fiber optics and data center cooling.
